Spill = to post on a visually based social network created specifically for McCann New York.

The ultimate goal for the Spill network was to encourage dialogue between talent across all departments–not just creative. It came about as one of many strategies to implement a "flatter, faster, more open and integrated culture" throughout the agency.

It was also a way to shape innovative thought into the agency's daily lives; allowing ideas to flow from personal interests, inspiration and cultural findings to team brainstorming sessions and client proposals.

Each "spill" has a color code associated with its content. As writers spill and spills stack, colors and shapes combine to create a dynamically changing, and endlesslly growing visualization of knowledge and discussion. In return, everyone at McCann could begin to literally see what's hot, who's talking about what, and how otherwise unrelated topics (and talent) are relevant indeed.
